Papers about works

Most monographs on the work of a painter are written in the cold language of an academic dictionary. They sit statically on the shelves of our libraries.
The content of these books in no way reflects the factors which characterize the real painter: his struggle between internal inspiration, the aesthetic challenge, communication demands, the need to be constantly creative and the aspiration to perfection.

Here, in contrast, all these dimensions are present in the articles of the Friends of Roee Suffrin Artworks.
The authors of these articles are themselves artists and creators and they comment on Suffrin’s works through their own personal experiences.. …putting forward a sometimes different viewpoint, arguing, suggesting, sharing and even creating.

They describe, each in his or her own way, his work and how it has developed in them a demanding, enthusiastic self-examination. They comment on his paintings from the heart and they always talk about themselves while seeming to talk about the paintings on the wall. Suffrin’s canvases touches them in a profound manner and do not leave them, propelling them into their own personal aesthetic creativity.

This is the best homage one can give a painter. Suffrin himself will be surprised by the comments penned by leading names in the visual and musical arts, language, and psychology.

Suffrin has spontaneously succeeded in affecting and mobilizing around him authors who are internationally recognized figures. Like Rochelle Owens, the great American poet, who writes: “Here is the poem which I wrote during a mental meditation and exploration based on the work of Roee Suffrin.”
Rochelle Owens has also said that: “a work is a mutation.”
These articles are not just “ritual critiques.” They also express something intimate and creative, which is what a true artist should inspire in all of us: art. Art for art.

An artist cannot expect more
from his art. The same goes for the r
eader.
